La Concha Hotel

La Concha Hotel has been a Duval Street staple since 1926, known for its rooftop views, rich history—and its ghosts. Over the years, guests and staff have encountered flickering lights, sudden cold spots, and spectral figures roaming the halls.

One of the eeriest features is the elevator shaft, where multiple people are said to have fallen to their deaths. Some say the elevator still moves on its own, and ghostly faces have been spotted inside—when it shouldn’t be operating at all.

In the Hemingway Suite, visitors report strange activity: drawers opening by themselves, lights flickering and things moving by themselves. And on the top floor, employees have caught a phantom wine thief—a shadowy figure blamed for glasses of Chardonnay suddenly disappearing.

Whether it’s restless spirits or echoes of the past, La Concha remains one of Key West’s most famously haunted hotels—and some say, once you check in, you’re never really alone.
